According to the U.S. Census Bureau, people 100 years old or older, also known as centenarians, make up less than 1% of the U.S. population. The Sharp Senior Health Centers recently held an event to celebrate their centenarian patients who’ve reached this incredible milestone.
The Senior Health Centers has a team of highly skilled primary care doctors, nurse practitioners and staff dedicated to providing specialized care to meet the unique needs of seniors. Their comprehensive outpatient program offers medical and behavioral health care, along with social services and community resource assistance.
“We see patients 65 and older who have Medicare,” says Sharon Rudnick, manager of Sharp Senior Health Centers. “Our goal is to keep them healthy, active, independent and out of the hospital.”
At the special celebration, centenarians shared a few tips and gave good advice on how to live a long, healthy life.
